Hello, I’m Amanda, the owner and maker at Gweni! I established this lovely little business four years ago, when I began making candles for my first online shop, The Welsh Dresser.
My first candles were made in recycled jam cars with floral paper tops! Those days seem like a long time ago, but the candles were popular and people loved the scents and how well they burnt. I began to experiment with different containers and fragrances, and got ‘hooked’ on candle making.
Canhwyllau Gweni Candles was created!
I make each and every candle, melt, and diffuser by hand, in small batches, to ensure a product of the highest quality. I’m also proud to use soy wax, which is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The thought of burning paraffin in my home is completely alien to me. This, and the fact that soy wax burns slower, longer, and cleaner meant that the decision to focus on soy wax was an easy one to make!
As a first language Welsh speaker from north Pembrokeshire, I take pride in the fact that every single item I produce features bilingual labelling, wherever possible.
If you have any questions or queries, please get in touch by writing to me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or telephone me on the details provided.
I make a variety of different candles, in tins and in glass containers.
